My KC is built so your eye-health data stays on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no selling of data — ever. The only time anything leaves your device is when you actively choose a feature that needs it, and this policy explains exactly when that is.
My KC ("the app") is developed by Luke Marshall, an independent developer who has keratoconus. Contact: Myappdeveloper371@gmail.com.
All of this lives in the app's local database on your iPhone. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no copy on our servers. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it (unless you exported a backup first).
If you use the optional AI feature to read values from a photo of your scan report, that image is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude API to extract the measurements. The extracted values are returned to you for review before anything is saved.
You can export a backup file (including your data and images) or a specialist report PDF at any time. These files are created on your device and shared only where you send them. Once you share a backup or report, its privacy is governed by wherever you sent it — choose recipients carefully.
The subscription and scan packs are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Purchase state is managed by Apple's StoreKit on your device.
Check-up reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing about them is transmitted anywhere.
The app may offer a strictly opt-in feature to contribute anonymised data to keratoconus research. If you use it: it sends only what the consent screen shows you (with a full preview of the exact data before sending), it is anonymised (a random code instead of your identity, month-level dates, numeric values only — never images, notes, or names), and you can withdraw using your contribution code at any time. If you never opt in, nothing is ever contributed.
Your data is protected by your iPhone's built-in encryption and security. Connections to our server for AI analysis use HTTPS/TLS. Because data lives on your device, protecting access to your device (passcode, Face ID) protects your data.
My KC is not directed at children under 13, and the research-contribution feature requires you to confirm you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
My KC is a personal tracking aid, not a medical device. It cannot diagnose keratoconus or replace your eye specialist. Always rely on your clinician for medical decisions.
If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
Questions or requests about your data: Myappdeveloper371@gmail.com.
Summary for App Store privacy labels: data is not collected as defined by Apple — health data processed for AI analysis is transmitted only at your request, used solely to service that request, and not retained.
